The ship
was in for general overhaul and one
of the problem areas identified was the rudder
bush which had worn badly and was now
needing a complete repair.
The bearing seat was first abrasive blasted to
give a clean and well prepared surface.
A new rudder bush was inserted into the rudder
bearing seat, positioned and fixed in place.
Metal-Tech FG was then injected using a
cartridge gun into the gap between the rudder
bush and the rudder bearing seat.
When this cured, the equipment was ready to
be put back into service.
