Both the shafts and hubs on a
section of this bucket wheel
excavator and conveyor belt at an
open cast coal mine in Indonesia
had become worn due to many
years of use and the aggressive
working environment.
The client required a high
performance engineering repair
solution.
The worn sections of shaft and
damaged hubs were suitably
prepared, ensuring any loose
material and surface contaminants
had been removed. Metal-Tech EG
was then used to effect a longlasting
 repair
to both types of
working component. After a
minimum cure time of 2 hours, these
components were then machined
as required for an accurate fit prior
to re-installation.
Metal-Tech EG is a two component,
engineering grade metal repair
compound which does not corrode
and provides good mechanical
strength in one easy application.
The client was very pleased with
the results.
